What is Strata?
STRATA is a smart home accessory that sets you for the day with weather forecast and makes your morning smooth and quite. STRATA is also an ultimate connection tool that do not only ensures you are ready to face today’s weather, but also helps you to establish communication with your beloved ones no matter how far away they are.
For whom is Strata for?
Backend
Hardware
In the backend of the actual product, an Arduino prototype was created using the ESP32 chip. It can connect to wi-fi and pull weather data in the form of a JSON from weather.gov using gridpoints to find a specific location’s weather.
A hardware chip was created that flickers an array of LEDs in various patterns and colors to represent different kinds of weather, representing factors such as temperature and precipitation.
